Fused Glass Bracelet(little better photo)

This piece started out as a pile of  fusible glass stacked in layers then set into my kiln where the temperatures would climb until I like the look of the colors as they melted down and joined each other in a liquid state.  I then let it cool also known as annealing so the glass would be strong and solid and not shatter.  I then cut this sheet of glass with my saw made just for this type of work.  The pieces were then put back into the kiln for a full fire.  They would then be beautifully smooth to glue on to this gold toned bracelet blank made just for this type of project.
It has lots of Green, Gold and Bronze dichroic glass in this piece.  I am hoping you can see it in the photo attached.

The piece measures 8″ long with a total of 13 pieces of glass attached with glue, E6000, for glass and metal.

I am asking $15.00 for this piece.

Do You Love Harley’s(new photo)

I used a Peyote type circular stitch in tradition Harley Davidson colors. Orange and Black with a little touch of Silver(for the CHROME which is my FAVORITE COLOR) I used size 11 Japanese Seed Beads to make the bracelet.  When I was done I slid a piece of Silver toned 18 gauge craft wire inside the finished bead work so you could have a cuff that could close around a few different size wrists.  From end to end measures 7 1/4″ with a one inch opening at you wrist as you can see in the photo.

Many hours went into this piece using tiny beads and yards of Fireline.

I am selling this Peyote type stitched cuff for $25.00

If you are interested in any of the jewelry I post send me a message.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bead weaving with Fireline, Light Lavender  and a few Black Seed Beads in size 11 with a mixture of Clear, Gold Foil Lined larger beads to give it a unique look. Very random.

Bracelet measures 7″ long but with a Button and loop closure you gain another 1/2″ in total length.
The width starts out at 1″ then gradually  widens as the cuff takes on its own look to 1 3/4″ at its widest point.  It had a Gold Toned Button closure.

This bracelet has a few yards of thread and about 5 to 8 hours of my beading work and many beads as you can clearly see.

I am asking $20.00 for this one of a kind cuff type bracelet.

Do you need pretty glass buttons for your handmade piece?

For those who may not know I fuse glass and adore Dichroic.

Here is a little history on this type of fancy as well as expensive glass so a little for me goes a long way.

Dichroic glass is glass containing multiple micro-layers of metals or oxides which give the glass dichroic optical properties. The main characteristic of dichroic glass is that it has a particular transmitted color and a completely different reflected color, as certain wavelengths of light either pass through or are reflected. This causes an array of color to be displayed. The colors shift depending on the angle of view. Dichroic glass is an example of thin-film optics.

I make many things out in the shop and will once it is spring and sadly winter has just begun.

Here are two different offerings from me. Glass buttons!

The first ones measure about 3/8″ across and with glass nothing is really exact with me as I let it flow until it is pretty. Simple just like me. There are 6 of them in this gorgeous color of greens and blues. All dichroic and sparkly. The photos are really not doing them justice I am afraid but on a pink, yellow or even a white sweater they would really pop!

These will sell for $3.00 US  for 6 of them.

The second offering of Glass Buttons are made the same way. In the kiln they are fire to a full fuse stage to soften all edges.  On this set I also used  glass but this time on a Black background of fusible glass with Purple  dichroic glass. Now in this group the sparkle is more prominent than the green/blue ones.

5 GLASS BUTTONS Purple on Black

Purple on Black

I must make a new light box to try to capture the true colors as it will really matter if you have already made your project.  If you collect buttons on the other hand these are hand-made  and I will not be making any more that will be exactly like these.

These will sell 5 for $3.00 US

Thanks for taking a look at these latest offerings.

Now Taking Orders

Folsom Mill Studio

I am now taking orders for the jewelry I make.
I will be doing custom pieces in the size or colors of your choice.
I will make necklaces and bracelets  like the one below

which is call KUMIHIMO.  I use glass beads.

A little history about this type of beaded braid.

Kumihimo cord was first created by a form of finger-loop braiding. Later tools such as the marudai and the takadai were employed to make more complex braids in shorter time. The most prominent historical use of the cords was by samurai as both a functional and decorative way to lace their lamellar armour and their horses’ armor (barding). Kumihimo cords are now used as ties on haori jackets and obijimes, which are used for tying on an obi (kimono sash).

I will also be offering Fused Glass Pieces for not only the women but for the…
